Perform Plastering of Walls
This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to perform wall plastering works in accordance with construction standards, occupational safety requirements, and work specifications. The course introduces learners to the selection and use of appropriate tools, equipment, and materials used in plastering activities, preparation of the working area, preparation of mortar mixes, and application of different plastering coats and finishes.
Learners will develop competencies in identifying suitable plastering tools and equipment, selecting quality materials, organizing mixing and storage areas, and implementing workplace safety measures. The course also provides practical skills in preparing mortar using correct mixing ratios, quantifying ingredients accurately, and applying appropriate mixing methods to achieve the required consistency and quality.
Furthermore, learners will gain hands-on experience in identifying different types of plaster, applying screeds, carrying out plastering operations, producing various surface finishes, finishing jambs, and maintaining cleanliness of the workplace after completion of work. Emphasis is placed on workmanship, quality control, efficient use of materials, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to prepare work areas, mix mortar correctly, apply plastering coats professionally, and produce durable, smooth, and aesthetically pleasing wall finishes that meet construction industry standards.
