ROAD ALIGNMENT SETTING

PWORA301: Road Alignment Setting provides the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for setting out road alignments in Public Works. It covers preparation for fieldwork, including interpretation of topographic maps, road drawings, tools, equipment, materials, and safety requirements. It covers setting levels and carrying out field measurements using appropriate surveying instruments. It also covers the delineation of road profiles and accurate marking of the designed road alignment on the ground.

 
 
 

PWOUM301 PERFORM UNPAVED ROAD MAINTENANCE

 This module describes the skills and knowledge required to maintain an unpaved road. It 
is intended for level three learners. At the end of this module, learners will be able to 
prepare for unpaved road maintenance work, plan for emergency maintenance, routine 
maintenance and periodic maintenance. Qualified learners deemed competent to this 
competency shall have the ability to carry out a range of defined road maintenance 
activities under directive supervision.
