      Veterinary drugs are administered in different ways for different species. Some are applied to the body surface while others are introduced inside the body through a variety of methods.

      Drugs are used in animal healthcare to treat illness, prevent disease and to prepare for surgical procedures.

      Drug administration is the direct giving of prescribed medication to an animal in order to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease or to prepare the animal for surgery.
