The Integrated Workplace or Industrial Attachment Program for Level 5 Animal Health is designed to provide learners with practical experience and professional skills by connecting classroom knowledge with real workplace activities in animal health services. The program combines online learning with supervised hands-on practice in veterinary clinics, livestock farms, animal health laboratories, and other relevant animal health institutions.
Throughout the program, learners apply theoretical knowledge to real-life situations involving livestock health management, animal restraint and handling, health assessment, disease prevention and control, vaccination, treatment support, biosecurity, livestock production, and the maintenance of animal health and production records. Learners also develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, ethical conduct, and professional responsibility while working with animal health professionals, farmers, and other stakeholders.
The blended learning approach enables learners to acquire theoretical knowledge through digital learning materials, online discussions, assignments, and other learning activities before applying their knowledge during workplace attachment. Workplace supervisors and trainers guide learners, monitor their performance, provide feedback, and assess their ability to perform assigned tasks safely and effectively.
At the end of the program, learners are expected to demonstrate competence in performing relevant animal health duties, following workplace procedures, applying occupational health and safety measures, communicating effectively, and maintaining accurate records. They should also demonstrate respect for animal welfare, professional ethics, environmental protection, and responsible animal health practices.
