This module provides learners with the practical skills, knowledge, and professional attitudes required to perform drilling operations in manufacturing technology. It is designed for learners pursuing TVET Certificate III in Manufacturing Technology and prepares them for employment, community-based activities, and further learning opportunities.
The course focuses on preparing materials, tools, and equipment used in drilling operations, carrying out drilling processes safely and accurately, and performing post-operation activities such as inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and workplace organization. Learners will develop competency in selecting and using drilling tools and machines, interpreting job requirements, measuring and marking workpieces, operating drilling equipment, and applying safety procedures in the workshop.
Throughout the module, emphasis is placed on practical hands-on activities, problem-solving, teamwork, quality workmanship, and adherence to occupational health and safety standards. Learners will also develop positive work attitudes such as responsibility, discipline, accuracy, and proper use of workshop resources.
