The Pneumatic and Hydraulic System Installation module for Level 4 Electrical Technology (ELT) teaches learners the principles, components, installation, operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems that use compressed air and pressurized fluids to transmit and control mechanical power. Learners are introduced to components such as compressors, pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, pipes, filters, and reservoirs, as well as how to read pneumatic and hydraulic circuit diagrams and safely install and connect these components. The module also covers electro-pneumatic and electro-hydraulic systems, showing how electrical devices such as switches, sensors, relays, and solenoid valves can control pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. Overall, the module develops practical skills needed to install, test, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems used in industrial electrical applications.
