The Digital Block Pattern Making module (FADDP501) equips fashion design learners with the technical expertise to digitize garment construction using specialized computer-aided design software. Over 100 learning hours, students master three core competencies: drafting digital block patterns by setting up virtual workspaces, applying measurement charts, and adding critical details like seam allowances, notches, and grainlines; performing digital pattern grading by calculating grade rules and generating accurate size-ups and size-downs; and executing digital marker making to optimize pattern layouts according to production orders, maximize fabric yield, and prepare print/plot files. Ultimately, this module bridges creative design with industrial apparel manufacturing, ensuring precision, efficiency, and sustainability in pattern production.
