This module equips learners with the knowledge, practical skills, and attitudes required to inspect, repair, maintain, and restore plumbing facilities in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings. Learners will develop competence in identifying faults and defects in plumbing systems and applying appropriate repair and maintenance procedures to ensure that facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
The module covers the maintenance and repair of common plumbing facilities, including water supply systems, sanitary fixtures, drainage systems, pipes, valves, taps, toilets, sinks, basins, and related fittings. Learners will gain practical experience in detecting leaks, clearing blockages, replacing damaged components, repairing defective fixtures, and carrying out routine preventive maintenance.
Emphasis is also placed on the proper selection and use of tools, materials, and equipment; workplace safety; environmental protection; water conservation; quality control; and good maintenance practices. Upon successful completion of this module, learners will be able to perform plumbing repair and maintenance activities effectively while following relevant technical standards and safety procedures.
