This module introduces learners to the fundamental concepts and principles of digital electronics and their applications in modern electronic systems. It develops an understanding of how digital systems represent, process, store, and transmit information using binary signals.

The module covers number systems and conversions, including binary, decimal, octal, and hexadecimal systems; logic gates and Boolean algebra; logic expressions and truth tables; and the analysis and simplification of digital circuits. Learners are introduced to fundamental digital components such as AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR, and XNOR gates, as well as combinational and sequential logic circuits.

The module also introduces flip-flops, registers, counters, multiplexers, demultiplexers, encoders, decoders, and basic memory devices. Learners develop practical skills in reading logic diagrams, constructing and testing digital circuits, using truth tables, and troubleshooting basic digital electronic systems.
