Introduction
This module describes the knowledge and skills of the learners required to identify different
procedures for laundering garments, like washing, dry cleaning and pressing according to the
types of fabric. Laundering is the act of washing, sometimes starching, and often also ironing
(clothes, linen, etc.).
Regular washing of clothes and bedding helps to remove any bacteria, dirt, fleas, mites, and
other irritants or infections. Washing clothes and bedding can help reduce the incidence of
infectious diseases, such as diarrheal disease, respiratory infections, scabies and other skin
infections. The module will allow learners for selecting laundry products and guidelines for
setting up laundry machine.
