    Introduction

     This module describes the process of designing and producing various types of soft furnishing. At the end of the training, the trainee will be able to develop soft furnishing concepts, present and implement the soft furnishing project. The module also describes the process for application tools, equipment and materials. The uses of soft furnishings in interior spaces are analysed with examples from living spaces. Soft furnishing basically includes aesthetics in interiors by bringing to it pattern, color and texture in addition to warmth and comfort. They are the elements of house that adds up the aesthetics and provide a satisfying atmosphere. Soft furnishings are not only recently in trend, but they come from ancient times. Soft furnishing is used differently in variety of environment depending upon the functionality of the area. Hence, soft furnishing has become an essential feature of interior spaces. In the modern era, soft furnishings play an essential role in interior décor, once the base of the interior are in place, one requires appropriate furnishings to achieve the desired environment.
