This is a core module which describes the skills, knowledge and attitude to be acquired by the learner to perform good work by preparing the working area and applying different coats in plastering in order to provide protection and good appearance of the wall at construction site and remove defects which may appear on the plastered walls. The learner deemed competent to this module may work at construction site in finishing stages under minimum supervision.

Masonry work is a key activity in building construction and requires careful planning, proper preparation, and correct execution to achieve strong and durable structures. The construction process begins with the selection of appropriate tools, equipment, and materials, which ensures efficiency, safety, and quality of work. This is followed by preparing the working area, where the site is cleaned, organized, and made safe for construction activities.
An important stage in masonry work is the preparation of mortar, which acts as a binding material for bricks and blocks. Properly mixed mortar provides strength, stability, and durability to masonry structures. Once the mortar is ready, construction proceeds with the elevation of brick walls and block walls, where units are laid accurately in line, level, and plumb to form strong and stable walls.
The final stage involves applying jointing and pointing, which improves both the appearance and durability of the masonry work. Jointing and pointing protect the wall from weather effects, enhance bonding, and give the structure a neat finish. Together, these activities form a complete masonry process that ensures safe, high-quality, and long-lasting building construction.
