Elements of Successful Plant Grafting

For plant grafting to be successful, the following conditions should be met:

  • Rootstock and scion are well matched
  • Rootstock and scion are healthy
  • Cambium of the scion and rootstock are aligned when joined together
  • Scion has dormant eye
  • Grafting union/site is properly covered and secured
