Final Days of IA: Communication and Interactions

As you approach the end of your Industrial Attachment and are preparing to transition back to school or into a career, there are a few key things you can do in your final days of IA to ensure a successful and smooth completion while also setting yourself up for future success:

  1. Workplace Networking: Building good connections with your colleagues at work can lead to recommendations for new opportunities or jobs in the future. Before your last day of Industrial Attachment, exchange contact information with relevant coworkers. Be sure to thank your colleagues and company instructor/supervisor for the opportunity to make a final good impression.

  2. Industrial Attachment Feedback: Ask your coworkers or company instructor/supervisor for constructive feedback on your work ethic, behavior, and performance. This will allow you to make changes in areas that need improvement so that you can feel prepared and confident in your next role.

  3. Recommendation Letter Request: Recommendation letters can be crucial for future opportunities such as employment or scholarship applications. Remember to request a recommendation letter from your company instructor or supervisor before your last day in the workplace.

Note: Consult your supervisor on company policies to determine if you need an exit interview.

Instructions: After reading the checklists, you can copy them to your notebook, where you will keep track of their completion. Don't forget to bring your notebook to your last days of IA so that you remember to complete your final tasks and needed documents!
