VETERINARY ETHICS AND JURISPRUDENCE

This module is not going to be a debate about animal rights or animal welfare. It is going to be about the fundamental obligations you, as a veterinary professional, owe to yourself, society, and animals in the veterinary profession.


CONDUCT FISH FARMING OPERATIONS

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform Fisheries and aquaculture. It is intended to the learners pursuing TVET Certificate V in Animal health. Upon completion of this module the learners will be able to Install aquaculture system, assist in hatching operations, perform nursery activities, grow and harvest fishes.

MAJOR SURGERY

Purpose statement: This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to assist in Major surgery. It is intended to the learners pursuing TVET Certificate V in Animal health. Upon completion of this module the learner will be able to perform preoperative activities, assist in surgical operations, perform post-operative care activities under minimum supervision.

BEEKEEPING OPERATIONS

Purpose statement:

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to perform beekeeping. At the end of this module, trainees will be able to install apiary, to keep honey bees, to harvest honey and honey bee products and to control honey bee diseases, pests, and predators.

COMPANION ANIMAL MANAGEMENT

This course  is designed to equip trainers and learners with advanced skills and knowledge for managing companion animals such as dogs, cats, equines, and camels.

OPERATE FARM MACHINERY

This module describes the skills, knowledge and attitude required to operate farm machine. It is intended to the learners pursuing TVET Certificate V in Animal Health. Upon completion of this module, the learner will be able to check farm machine before use, use farm machine and apply maintenance of farm machine. Qualified learners deemed competent may work alone or with others under supervision
