Documents, Paperwork and Tools for the First Day

There are several documents and paperwork you need to have before starting your Industrial Attachment that have different purposes. Some can be used for identification, and others for contracting purposes. 

Instructions: After reading the checklists, you can copy them to your notebook, where you will keep track of their completion. Don't forget to bring your notebook to your IA so that you remember your 1st-day tasks and needed documents and make a great first impression!

Below is a list of some of the documents and paperwork you might need.

□ Personal and student ID

□ Logbooks (student’s and in company supervisor’s)

□ Copy of your application/recommendation letter

□ Health and industrial attachment insurance

□ Acceptance letter or document

□ Notebook/Agenda/handbook

□ Medical checkup license (where applicable)

□ Student logbook parts (Industrial Attachment program plan) – You might need to complete this alongside your in-company instructor/supervisor

□ Industrial attachment contract (where applicable)


Note: This list does not contain all the documents you might need, and those mentioned might not apply to everyone. So do not forget to ask your school supervisor and your company about any other documents you are required to complete.
