  Introduction

  This core module describes the performance outcomes skills, knowledge, and attitude to set out a building on the site where the learner will be able to clean the site, and then set the leveling instruments and demarcate the foundation, walls, and columns on pegs, profiles, and lines as required.

  Learning Objectives
  

  Upon completion of this module, the trainee will be able to: 

  • Assess the site condition, Identify harmful waste to the environment, Clear unnecessary trees, and tree trunks, cut grasses, and Remove the topsoil
  • Select hand survey tools and equipment, Set up leveling devices, Take data from dumpy level and theodolite and Demarcate foundation pegs and lines
  • Delimit the surface to be excavated, Dig out the foundation trench, Separate topsoil and refill the soil, and Make smooth sides and level base
